FamilySearch Activity: Compare a Face

In an episode of Relative Race a few years ago, I was struck by one contestant’s joy that he was finally meeting “people who look like me.” While there are many ways to foster a sense of belonging among family members, this story illustrates that sharing physical traits can play a role in feeling like you belong.

Who do you resemble in your family? If you’re not sure, FamilySearch has an activity called Compare a Face that will help you. It uses facial recognition to seek similarities between you and photos of your ancestors. It’s as simple as uploading a photo of yourself and clicking a button.

Once you receive your comparison, you can click the Learn More button to connect with your family member through Photos, Stories, Documents, and more. You can even see what celebrities you most resemble. This is a fun Sunday activity that the whole family will enjoy!
